Support for the project has been acknowledged by the following government department, christian body and musical industries

  • 5th September 2013 – Presentation of Prison Healing Works Trust’s works to Catholic Women’s League at Our Lady of the Rosary Parish.
  • 19th April 2013 – completed two tracks ‘Like the Butterfly’ and final mix for ‘Regular Prison Ministry’ at Matrix Digital Studios, Wellington, New Zealand.
  • June to July 2012 PHW goes to Nashville – visit to Tennessee Women’s Prison with the Theotherapy Project Group, Mark West (team Leader), did two recordings: ‘Like the Butterfly’, and ‘Regular Prison Ministry’ at Boulevard Studio Nashville, USA.
  • 22nd April 2011 registered Trust on Youtube for purposes of evangelisation and deriving royalties for PHW.
  • September 2010, Kilian D’Lacy, Senior Prison Chaplain Services Coordinator supports the Prison Healing Works Trust by advising the sale of the CD ‘Rimutaka Prison Blues’ sales throughout the parishes nationwide;
  • November 2009 100 CDs’ cut by Amstore for distribution to the prisons and to generate sales royalties to be vested into Prison Healing Works Trust projects;
  • September 2009 Order of 300 booklets produced by the Wellington Prison Printshop (Terry O’Leary) for the purpose of Prison Ministry in Rimutaka and Arohata Prison and sales to generate royalties that will be vested into the account of Prison Healing Works Trust Inc. to further the objectives of the Trust;
  • Research in London UK (17 October to 4 November 2004) regarding ex offenders and resettlement into the community programmes and effectiveness of Christianity; (see the website www.prisonhealingworks.org.nz);
  • 26th October 2004 I received a response from Charmaine Noble from Premier Christian Radio, London, UK who noted that the vocals and backing on the CD ‘Set the Captives Free’ were good and that their radio channel would like to receive a demo copy of the final production of the twelve tracks upon completion in 2005;
  • Prison Healing Works Project became incorporated (under the Charitable Trust Act 1957) 12/05/04;
  • Department of Corrections advised commendation on interest in working with inmates and post-inmates and to maintain contact with Annette Oldfield of Communications Unit in regard to progress. (Catherine Hall/Acting General Mgr. Public Prisons Service. Letter dated 20/01/04);
  • 2002 Mandy Warby – Australasian Christian Broadcast offered positive advice and encouragement to pursue the ministerial musical objective; and ongoing
  • Prayerful support from International Catholic Programme of Evangelisation and Our Lady of the Rosary Parish Waiwhetu.

  • 4 March 2011, Filming for Youtube of the track ‘Im Serving Time for my crime’ beyond New Plymouth Prison and at local Catholic Church;

  • Presentation of PHW to Hutt Rotary Club on April 9th, 2008 at Angus Hotel (Breakfast);
  • Numerous CD booklets and personal performances of the works performed within units at Wellington Prison and in particular Rimutaka Prison;
  • Prison Healing Works fundraiser at Our Lady of the Rosary Parish Hall.  Attendance of between 70 – 80 people at any one time.26/06/05.

  • Radio Te Upoko O te Ika – Live Airplay/Radio Interview with Piripi Whaanga on 09/07/03 and replay at 9am on 12/07/03.
  • Creative Communities Scheme and Hutt Valley Community Arts have acknowledged the musical writing skills and compositions and have assisted the project by way of a financial Grant (11/09/03);
  • Contacted IRD (special files) regarding the setting up of non-profit status account for project (July 2003);
  • The Secretary George Hayward PFNZ and Chaplains throughout New Zealand will receive a copy of a demo CD and will be praying for the success of the production processes;
  • Musician friends Murray Iota, Noel Forsyth, Ron Stuart, Richie Waitai, Kerry Mongan, Bill Brown, Jeff Duncan, Carey Baxter, and Phil Hornblow have given free manpower and/or charged out at a reduced fee to assist with the musical arrangements and CD Demo;
  • Permission was given to borrow a bone/paua shell hand craft for the graphic depiction “Set the Captives Free” on the cassette/CD cover;
  • Stirling Real Estate – Photocopying, heaps!;
  • David Frank from Spectra has offered to undertake the graphic design for the CD sleeve and arrange the graphic/printing for the entire sleeve and set up the website on the internet;
  • Wellington Prison to undertake the printing of the 2000 plus CD booklets;
  • Recording Studios Vision, Baxter Beats and Matrix in Wellington have given services at a reduced rate;
  • Phil Hornblow has written liner notes/lyrics and chord charts;
  • Professional journalist Martin De Jong has written articles on the ministerial musical works for submission to the Contact Community newspaper in Wellington (Aug 28/2003 published), and the Welcom (Aug 2003 publication) which has been circulated to 15000 parishioners in the Wellington region;
  • Inmates from Rimutaka, Wellington Prison and Arohata have given their appraisal through questionnaires and positive comments.
  • Hutt Valley and Wellington community Grants, Tindall’s Trust, Loans and Private donations; and
  • Special thanks are in order for Murray Iota, and Noel Forsyth whose musical innovative ideas helped to form the original springboard to develop the final musical structure, also to Kerry Mongan for the usage of his sound and recording facility.  In total the three men gave approximately 350 hours of their time.
